Trailer:
If I were to make a trailer, I would more likely focus onto choosing the horror genre. The reasoning behind this, is that after last years experience with the horror genre with making a film, it has officially caught my attention and has made me want to continue this work on. Or I could choose to continue the horror genre but develop it further into a thriller instead, for something more interesting.
Examples:
JESSABELLE (2014):
With this selected trailer based on the film 'JESSABELLE' in which was made in the year 2014, the trailer really does stand out against most. It both contains peoples fears; Tarot cards, partners death, a parents death, paranormal activity, death and tapes which are left behind to watch. The use of juxtapositions between the father going aggressive and infuriated, to people who belong to a tribe helping also gives a sense of insecurity as their is generally not enough information given on who too trust. The use of lighting of candles against darkness also stands out really well, when it came to the candles being blown out and the sudden edit cut of darkness. Another eye-catching but also hook in device is balanced between both the titles of the films that the company have produced before but also the constant sudden fades out of different scenes, people and places. This shows the audience how the film will both give and show high expectations due to previous media products that the majority of the audience loved before, but also how money was carefully used to show all these different places that are usually inaccessible.
